Jill Burkee: Born in Denver, Colorado (1953). Attended the University of Washington, and in 1975 received a grant to study in Italy with stone carving artisans/professionals. Her main body of work can be found in private and public commissions made in collaboration with Italian born artist Giancarlo Biagi since 1977.  The artist team maintains studios in New York City, Eastern Long Island and Italy.
